An endoscopy is a non-surgical procedure used to look inside the body. The endoscopy procedure uses an endoscope (a long thin wire with a camera attached for viewing internal organs) to examine the interior of a hollow organ or cavity of the body. Endoscopy is also used to remove benign growths such as polyps, retrieval of accidentally swallowed objects, or in treating upper gastrointestinal bleeding, as seen in ulcers tears of the lining.
Unlike many other medical imaging techniques, endoscopes are inserted directly into the organ. Astra’s expert team of technicians ensure the process is hassle free and patient is calm and well informed of the entire procedure.
